  It's a good start. The trails are still under development. There are boardwalks in some of the swampy areas. Great for mountain biking.

  A new (broke ground summer 2013) recreational park in the Rural Community of Hanwell. Park already has a variety of trail options to mix-match your trail options. Parking is onsite for approximately 25 cars across the road from the trail head. Access the park from the Hanwell Park Lane off of the Hanwell Road/640. No motorized vehicles and currently offers and encourages walking, cross country running, biking, picnics. Please clean up after dogs. There are no bathroom facilities onsite at this time (pending an Environmental Impact Assessment). Summer 2014 we hope to have benches and picnic tables added as well as improved signage and a kiosk!   I visited the park on 2014-06-23. The park is located on a leased parcel of Crown Land covered by a mature, mixed forest. At this time most of the trails have only been rough cut through the forest and the trail surface is variable and includes: * firm even ground along an old, pre-existing logging road; * uneven, soft, recently disturbed ground; * stumps and exposed tree roots; * many muddy and wet areas; * tall grass where the trail crosses a beaver meadow. There is a stream hidden in the tall grass and a make-shift bridge. The trail is not well marked across the beaver meadow. It's a good start and more trail improvements are planned for the summer of 2014.

  It was our 1st time yesterday and it is a great place for snowshoeing. The trails are great and groomed.
